Whether you are building a large multi-family project, luxury custom homes on the coast or  subdivision housing in Hawaii, you want windows that serve all of a homeowner’s needs—a fantastic view, open ventilation, the just-right amount of sunshine and light, protection against tropical weather events and impacts, and maintenance-free exteriors and interiors that remain beautiful year after year.

With manufacturers offering multiple series set apart by trademarked features—including high-demand expanses of sliding, gliding and folding windows—you want to be sure of what you’re paying for and that you’re getting the window features that you actually want.

U-factor

The lower the U-factor, the better the window is at preventing heat transfer inside out and, in Hawaii, outside in.

Solar Heat Gain Coefficients

Lower SHGC numbers allow less radiant heat to pass through the glass.

Visible Light Transmission

Lower VLTs allow less light to pass through the glass.

UV Protection

UV coatings may be clear yet block 90 percent of all UV rays.

Honsador Lumber is here to make sure you get exactly what you need. We stock full selections from the best names in the window industry like Andersen, Marvin, Milgard, Parrett and Weiland. Whatever you’re looking for, one of our suppliers has it, and we can help you find it.

Andersen

Andersen windows begin with the 100 Series featuring its 40-percent reclaimed wood Fibrex composite that’s twice as strong as vinyl. Its 200 Series offers wood windows with low-maintenance vinyl exteriors in standard sizes while the 400 Series expands those options for performance and style. Andersen’s A-Series is architecturally focused for custom window design, with the premium E-Series taking windows to the limit with exotic woods, dramatic shapes and sizes, window-door expanses and more.

Andersen glass options include Low-E glass, SmartSun Glass that blocks 95 percent of UV rays, HeatLock Technology to reduce heat transfer, Sun Glass to control glare and laminated glass that not only protects against impacts but also reduces sound transmission. With combined monolithic or insulated laminated glass integrated with structural enhancements, Stormwatch Protection systems are designed for performance and durability in coastal areas.

Marvin

Marvin breaks its windows into collections, starting with the Essential line, maintenance-free windows thanks to fiberglass interiors and exteriors. The Elevate line uses fiberglass for exteriors and warm wood for interiors. The premium Signature line features both Modern and Ultimate collections that allow for top-of-the-line architectural customization and modular design. Marvin also manufactures Coastal Solutions systems that use Impact Zone-certified glass to protect against impacts, flying debris and temperature extremes.

Glass options range from clear double-pane glass to Low-E3—engineered with multiple metallic layers to address radiant heating in Southern climes—decorative and specialty glass, and IZ-certified laminated glass.

Milgard

Milgard—now a subsidiary of MI—is a go-to source for quality replacement windows as well as windows for new construction. The Tuscany and Trinsic series offer top-of-the-line vinyl in traditional and contemporary styles, respectively. Milgard’s Style Line focuses on affordable vinyl windows in standard sizes. For premium fiberglass exteriors with wood interiors, you can rely on the Essence series. For fiberglass inside and out, you’ll want the Ultra line. Milgard also offers an Aluminum series for lightweight, corrosion resistance and contemporary styling as well as its Quiet Line and its superior STC rating. For ultimate luxury, Milgard’s Moving Glass Wall Systems can open entire walls to an outdoor view.

Many of the lines come with SmartTouch Locks, and SunCoat Low-E glass comes standard on all windows, able to reflect heat and UV rays. For more protection, you can opt for SunCoatMAX, Milgard’s Low-E3 glass that reduces solar heat gain and blocks UV rays.
