Habitat for Humanity Golf Classic

Honsador Lumber is proud to be the Marquee Sponsor of the Habitat Humanity Golf Classic to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity Leeward O’ahu. This organization supports affordable housing for our community and helps build strength, stability, and independence through shelter. Honsador’s 4th annual golf tournament was a huge success with several sponsorships from our amazing vendors.

Honsador $5,000 Scholarship Winner 2023

Congratulations to our first ever Honsador Lumber Scholarship winner, Kaitlin Kitagawa! Kaitlin is a high-achieving student with a GPA of 4.667 while enrolled in several projects and extracurriculars. In addition to her academic achievements, Kaitlin is heavily involved in leadership, holding positions such as the president of the Jazz Band, Pep Band, and Concert Band. Kaitlin plans to attend college on the West Coast and major in engineering or mathematics. 

Honsador Lumber proudly champions its community by recognizing the exceptional talent and potential of high school students through the $5,000 Honsador Scholarship. We believe in investing in the future leaders who will shape our communities for the better. Honsador will continue to empower students to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on the world.

High School Hero Program

In the Fall and Spring of each academic year, Honsador Lumber hand selects their High School Hero winners based on good academic standing and going above and beyond in showing school spirit and serving their community as a positive role model.

These winners receive a $250 donation by Honsador Lumber in the students’ names to the academic department or non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of their choosing and a $1,500 cash prize to each recipient.

Below are the winners from Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, and be on the lookout for a chance to nominate a student as this is a program Honsador plans to continue for many more high schoolers to come.

    Backpacks 4 Kids Program

    For two years now, Honsador Lumber has implemented their Backpacks 4 Kids program. Honsador recognized that some families might not have the time or resources to buy new school supplies every year, and to ease the stress from the first few days of school, Honsador packs and delivers backpacks stuffed with supplies to public schools across the Hawaiian Islands. To date, Honsador has delivered over 1,500 backpacks in two school years.. 

    These backpacks were provided to public schools based on the need for school supplies for their students, and the school administration and teachers can then distribute these backpacks to any students short on supplies. This Backpacks 4 Kids program is something Honsador hopes to carry on year after year. With some of Honsador’s own employees as alumni of these various schools, they have the opportunity to give back in a special way to their communities. We know the first weeks of school can be stressful for students and families, but Honsador wants to help every kid start the school year with confidence!
